Who We Are

Welthungerhilfe is one of the largest non-profit aid organisations in Germany with no political or religious affiliation. It was founded in 1962 under the umbrella of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization. Since being established, more than 9,331 overseas projects in 70 countries have been supported with 3.71 billion euros. The fundamental principle of Welthungerhilfe is help for self-help: together with local partner organisations, we strengthen structures from the bottom up and work for the long-term success of our project work.
