Somaliland/Somalia
The Complete Package For A New Start In Agriculture
Although the overall food situation in Somalia has improved slightly, people in the conflict areas are completely dependent on humanitarian aid. This project in the southwest of the country helps farming families along two rivers to (re)gain a foothold in agriculture. Drought-resistant seeds, the necessary equipment and local knowledge transfer help to make a new start. Irrigation channels, a solar pump and dikes are also being built and maintained through 'cash for work' measures. Accompanying training is being provided on topics such as storage, processing and marketing.
