Pastoralists, Masters of Resilience: Adapting to Climate Change
The border area between Ethiopia and Kenya is home to tough and experienced pastoralists. However climate change is causing such extreme droughts that even they are slipping into poverty and suffering from malnutrition. This project helps them improve resource management and is notable for its cross-national approach, with local organisations in Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda working on improving connections between the pastoralists who are not currently organised. This will allow them to form interest groups and gain greater collective influence with their governments.
