Coffee Cultivation, Not Exploitation: Diversification
Ethiopia is considered the cradle of coffee cultivation and is the home of the renowned Arabica coffee bean. Despite the success of their coffee, cultivators have remained poor in the project area. Now they are being trained to become experts who can increase the quantity and quality of coffee that they produce. They learn all about sustainable agriculture, resource efficiency and diversification as well as being informed about sustainable forestry strategies. They also benefit from WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) measures.
