Gara qabiyyee deemi

Somaliland was wracked by a succession of disasters in 2020, including droughts, locusts, and COVID-19. This project offers a broad spectrum of support to herding families that traditionally live off their camels, goats, and sheep, so that they do not have to sell their animals. The introduction of sustainable methods improves pastures, while animals are reinvigorated with extra feed. The families gain better access to drinking water and sanitation facilities, and women, in particular, receive training in making their produce last longer so that it can be sold at markets.
