Lobbying for Land Rights
Despite the Ethiopian government’s best efforts to regulate investments and land use more effectively, small-scale farmers and herders continue to be dispossessed, displaced, or overlooked. This project is expanding one of Welthungerhilfe’s regional lobbying programmes, with a special focus on strengthening people’s land rights, by bolstering their participation in consultations and negotiations. The ultimate goal is to bring together investors, government representatives, and civil society. There is also specialised training and information provided to civil-society representatives.
