Education for Women and Better Nutrition for All

Welthungerhilfe has been supporting around 33,000 people in the Awdal region of Somaliland, through this project. Over recent years, the Horn of Africa has suffered from long periods of drought and famines. More than 170,000 people have fled to Somaliland, although the pastoralist families already living there also have to endure very difficult conditions themselves. As part of their training, they learn how they can produce food more efficiently and improve their nutrition. Women are taught reading, writing and arithmetic.
